Colorado Vacation Lodging
“Welcome to Colorful Colorado.”
That’s what the signs say when you arrive. And Colorado truly is colorful – which is why it’s one of our Great Vacation Destinations. Whether you’re looking to escape the city or experience a vibrant art and theater scene, there’s something for everyone in Colorado. You can find Colorado vacation condo rentals, resorts and timeshares all over the state.
Colorado Vacations in the City
You can begin your visit in Denver, the Mile High City and Queen of the Plains. It is a diverse and growing city, home to world class sports, theatre, and other cultural amenities in Colorado. Timeshares and vacation lodging options are endless. It’s also a center for design, with buildings done by Daniel Liebskind and Michael Graves. And that’s just downtown! Beyond the city center you’ll find great neighborhoods to explore, exciting street festivals, and beautiful parks and hiking trails. Just to the west is Red Rocks, an outdoor amphitheater that’s one of the best concert venues in the world. There’s always something to do in Denver!
Vacation Beyond the City
Beyond the city you’ll find a state filled with nature, wildlife, and endless recreation and vacation opportunities. Camping, hiking, skiing, fishing – these are just a few of the things to do. Explore history with tours of places like Leadville (the town with the highest elevation in the US ) and the ghost towns left over from the state’s early mining days. If you love trains, ride the Georgetown Loop, a track that was a feat of engineering when it was built in the mountains in 1884. You can even go boating in Colorado. Visit Grand Lake, inside Rocky Mountain National Park, the largest body of water in the state and a beautiful alpine lake. Plenty of rivers and streams provide many opportunities for rafting and kayaking. It’s the perfect destination for boating, swimming, and hiking along the lakeshore. Fairplay is another great day trip from the city. The city is a historic mining town, with historical celebrations every July.
Colorado Ski & Mountain Vacations
The majestic Rocky Mountains are Colorado’s centerpiece. There are over 50 mountains that are higher than 14,000 feet, enticing hikers and rock climbers from all over the world. Skiing is one of the most popular winter activities, and there are resorts from north to south. Visit Steamboat for some record snowfalls, or Arapaho Basin to see how far into the spring you can ski. Vail, Aspen, Keystone, and Telluride are just a few more of the many ski resorts throughout the mountains. The mountain resorts also offer snowshoeing, horseback riding, spas, off road tours, and some of the best natural views in the world. When you stay in a picturesque, Colorado vacation resort, you’ll never want to leave.
To the west of the Rockies lies the western slope, with some of the country’s best orchards and vineyards nestled among a gorgeous red rock landscape that gave the state its name. Visit wine and fruit festivals throughout the year and take tours of the vineyards. Grand Junction is home to art galleries and festivals for the whole family. It’s also your gateway to dinosaur country. Visit a dinosaur quarry or a museum.
To really get away from it all, head southwest to Durango. It’s a six-hour drive from Denver (or a short flight away), but you’ll go through some of the most stunning mountain scenery Colorado has, and you’ll end up in a mountain town that has it all: skiing, backcountry hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and much more! Don’t forget that you’ll be near Mesa Verde National Park. There you can see the incredible cliff dwellings of the Anasazi, an ancient group of Pueblo.
